Kongsberg Digital and Williams scale industrial intelligence for distributed gas power serving AI data centers

Multi-year agreement will deliver Kongsberg Digital’s Industrial Intelligence Platform across five U.S. power generation facilities in Ohio and Utah.
Kongsberg Digital has entered a multi-year agreement with Williams, a leading U.S. energy infrastructure company that handles roughly one-third of the natural gas that moves through U.S infrastructure via its pipeline and midstream network. The agreement will see the deployment of Kongsberg Digital’s flagship Industrial Work Surface and artificial intelligence (AI) platform, Kognitwin®, across all Williams natural gas-fired power generation facilities.
The initiative includes the deployment of an industrial intelligence platform for distributed natural gas power systems serving hyperscale data centers and grid-constrained markets. Williams is expanding into onsite generation to deliver tailored energy solutions that meet the growing demand from hyperscalers, leveraging its extensive gas infrastructure footprint and midstream expertise.
This partnership reflects a fundamental shift in how critical energy infrastructure is operated. As demand for power grows alongside the AI data center boom, operators must move beyond fragmented systems toward integrated, real-time decision environments. By combining Williams’ deep gas infrastructure expertise with our industrial intelligence platform, we are enabling a generation of power facilities that are not only reliable, but optimized from the outset.”
Shane McArdle, CEO of Kongsberg Digital.
Through this collaboration, Kongsberg Digital will create a real-time, hyper-visual replica of Williams’ power generation facilities while making complex data AI-ready. The platform will integrate multimodal data, live operational inputs, business processes, and advanced simulation capabilities to optimize performance and maintenance predictions, while providing real-time remote visibility across all operations.
As hyperscale data centers grow, they demand power solutions that are not just reliable, but insight-driven from day one. By partnering with Kongsberg Digital, we’re building a scalable digital foundation that connects our onsite generation assets, our data, and our people so we can make faster, better-informed decisions across every facility.
Brandon Croley, Director Information Technology, Williams.
By integrating data and AI in real time, the platform provides a unified operational environment that enables:
- Real-time situational awareness across assets
- Predictive maintenance and reliability optimization
- Scenario-based performance modelling
- Workflow automation
By embedding industrial intelligence into end-to-end workflows, Williams aims to enhance uptime and support the energy intensity demands of AI-driven infrastructure.
The agreement establishes a scalable digital foundation across their sites, supporting Williams’ expanding onsite generation operations while reinforcing operational transparency and performance discipline.
Implementation will begin immediately, with phased rollout aligned to facility commissioning timelines.
