Kongsberg Digital combines industrial data, engineering expertise, and simulation capabilities, including K-Spice and LedaFlow, with NVIDIA Omniverse libraries to create interactive, physics-aware digital environments where operational data, engineering models, simulation outputs, and semantically structured 3D asset representations come together in real time.

Its flagship Industrial Work Surface solution, Kognitwin®, provides a unified environment where operational and enterprise data are contextualised across the lifecycle of complex industrial assets. NVIDIA Omniverse provides libraries that enable teams to build and operate AI-enabled, physically accurate 3D environments based on OpenUSD.

By integrating Omniverse libraries into Kognitwin®, industrial organisations can bring engineering models, simulation outputs and operational data into a shared spatial environment where humans and AI systems interact with industrial assets in context. These OpenUSD-based environments can be hosted in the cloud while remaining connected to live operational systems, engineering tools and simulation workflows.

Kongsberg Digital’s simulation portfolio and industrial domain expertise provide the validated engineering foundation for these environments, including K-Spice and LedaFlow as part of a broader approach to connecting simulation workflows, operational data and spatial context in a shared digital environment.

“The real gap in industry today is not data – it is the ability to turn data into clear, trusted decisions. By combining our industrial models and simulators with NVIDIA libraries and accelerated AI infrastructure, we can create digital environments where operators, engineers and AI systems can explore, understand and optimise operations at industrial assets in a far more intuitive and informed way.”

said Shane McArdle, CEO of Kongsberg Digital.

Together, these capabilities allow industrial teams to explore and test operational scenarios in simulated environments before changes are made in the physical world. AI agents can reason across operational data, engineering models and spatial context to assist operators and engineers in analysing complex systems, identifying optimisation opportunities and improving operational performance.

“Industrial organisations need a way to bring massive volumes of operational data into a unified spatial context to make it actionable through physics-grounded simulation. The integration of NVIDIA Omniverse libraries with Kognitwin enables industrial teams and AI agents to collaborate within a shared digital environment to optimise complex assets and workflows in real time.”

said Vikram Natarajan, General Manager for Omniverse at NVIDIA.

These environments can be deployed on accelerated AI infrastructure in the cloud, with Microsoft Azure as a preferred partner, to meet the security and performance requirements of large industrial organisations.

The technology architecture brings together several complementary layers of industrial intelligence:

  • Engineering truth, through validated industrial simulators and process models, including K-Spice for dynamic process simulation and LedaFlow for transient multiphase flow simulation, representing the physical behaviour of assets and systems.

  • Operational intelligence, through AI agents that reason across process logic, operational data and spatial context to support decision-making.

  • Spatial computing, through NVIDIA Omniverse libraries and OpenUSD-based digital environments representing industrial facilities with high fidelity.

  • Immersive visualisation, through cloud-rendered environments where engineers, operators and AI systems can collaborate within the same operational context.

Kongsberg Digital is working with NVIDIA to further develop these capabilities and support industrial customers in deploying intelligent operational environments where simulation, visualisation and AI reasoning operate together as a single coherent system.
