Leadership Panel: 
This panel discussion will debate how to achieve long-term, deep decarbonisation of heavy industry. Balancing abatement costs and green premiums, with technology-readiness, operational efficiencies and clean electrification.

Hard-to-abate sectors present unique and notoriously complex challenges on the global journey to achieving low-carbon economies, especially in the Global South. While progress has been made, hard-to-abate sectors still account for 40% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Significantly, to gain lost ground and accelerate decarbonisation within these giant international ecosystems, an estimated USD 30 trillion in additional capital will be required by 2050 to achieve net-zero goals (WEF).

To leap the biggest collective hurdle to global climate pledges, new levels of cross-sector collaboration will be needed.
